The Role:

The Clinical Mental Health Services Manager will lead the delivery and enhancement of psychological and psycho-social mental health programs including the Department of Social Services funded Family Mental Health Support Service (Starfish program) Primary Health Network funded Brisbane MIND4Kids psychological therapies and psychosocial support programs and Expressive Therapy program.

The Clinical Mental Health Services Manager will also work collaboratively with other programs to create an inclusive and supportive workplace culture. 

The role is a full time position based in Deception Bay with travel to Kingston in a pool vehicle approx. once per week. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality services that enhance the lives of children and families by focusing on their strengths and inherent abilities: Ensure the delivery of services that are client centred and family focused, strengths based, culturally inclusive, and trauma and attachment informed. Lead services that are outcome focused, professional and aligned with child safety and vulnerable adults safeguarding requirements.
  • Create opportunities for change in the lives of children and their families through enhanced psychological, social and emotional outcomes
  • Lead and manage the programs within the Moreton and Kingston Integrated Mental Health Services to drive excellence in service delivery and performance, including overseeing:
  • Referrals and intake processes, supported by the Intake and Admin Officer and Senior Child, Youth and Family Practitioner/Team Leader.
  • Delivery of high quality evidence-based, flexible and responsive early intervention, prevention, case management and therapeutic interventions, including collaborative case planning.
  • Safe and effective outreach work and virtual service delivery in community settings including family homes and schools.
  • Drive the development of group/family work and activities that enhance children’s opportunities, build families skills and capacity that enhance children and young people’s mental health outcomes, family and peer relationships and support networks.

To Be Successful:

  • Post graduate qualifications in Psychology or Social Work.
  • Registration with AHPRA or Mental Health Social Worker accreditation
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ practice experience, including demonstrated skills in clinical assessment, case formulation and planning, case management, delivery of therapies, group and family work, and capacity to provide culturally appropriate responses to children and families.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve program goals and performance targets.
  • Experience supervising the practice of psychologists, counsellors, and other allied health professionals, managing performance and fostering a culture of ongoing development.
  • Experience in coordinating programs including administration tasks, managing budgets and monitoring contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to evidenced-informed therapies, as well as a strong foundation in the underlying principles of strengths based, client centred and family focused trauma and attachment informed frameworks.
  • Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain professional relationships with a range of stakeholders.
